Starting from a single piece, like a seed, as more pieces join, a hidden rhythm emerges. Pipework, timber, drawings can be threaded through the entire structure, forming a framework for artworks or platforms, adding complexity. Suspended, this work suspends judgement, inhabiting rather than resolving the ambiguity between play and dependence, delight and unease, artifice and the increasingly ambient forms of artificiality through which contemporary life is experienced.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0911/6545/8814/files/CopyofTableManners.CourtesytheartistsandBarbatigallery_Venice_Italy.PhotographyAndreaRossetti05.jpg?v=1784892697
ode-to-a-cello
Ode to a Cello

Ode to a cello is a nod to Claes Oldenburg’s Soft Viola (2002) made in collaboration with his wife and creative partner Coosje van Bruggen.
The instrument as a body
The body as an instrument
The first strings were gut.
