I think about loss and memory a lot with the darkroom techniques I use to create these effects. The imperfect traces left behind by dodging and burning while printing become part of the work. My work invites viewers to engage with presences and absences, exploring the echos and imprints that things leave behind. Reflections and shadows giving a body to the unseen and in some photos where objects appear in couplets feel anthropomorphic despite the apparent lack of a body. Empty vessels in which you can impress your own memories.
