His earlier metal wall hangings became sculptures and were later used as stencils to create intricately ornate painted surfaces. The paintings, which combine various historical references, were produced over a long period of experimentation. In 2025 he undertook a research trip to Egypt to further understand the history of Hatshepsut, the New Kingdom female Pharaoh, who was represented as male in the later statues of her reign.
