About the Artwork

Part of an ongoing series of paintings referencing the visual language of vintage queer publications. Each work depicts male figures in a state of undress within ambiguous interior settings. Their faces are usually obscured, hinting at the tension between anonymity, confidence and desire in relation to the body, thus producing images which invite multiple interpretations.
