"Family Album" is an ongoing series of drawings on the photographs from my family album. Eerie figure of bear is drawn over image of my mother. The photograph was captured by my father with medium format camera during my first family trip to the mountains.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Katarzyna Depta-Garapich (b. 1973, Poland) is a visual artist based in London. She holds a PhD from the Slade School of Art, where she also received her BA and MA. She has been awarded the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Scholarship (2025) and the Gessel Foundation Scholarship (2023). Her upcoming solo exhibition Feral is in Warsaw in 2025. Her work has been included in the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize and exhibited at the Freud Museum.
