About the Artwork
This sculpture is based on the idea that geometry exists within natural structures, more specifically crystals. I am particularly interested in crystallography and the various types of symmetry found in mineral forms. By using wood, a material with an organic texture, on a strictly symmetrical shape, the work highlights the connection between natural growth and geometric order. This contrast emphasizes how natural forms often follow underlying patterns, while still maintaining their organic qualities. The sculpture invites viewers to consider the balance between structure and irregularity in nature, showing how geometry and natural textures can coexist and complement each other.
