About the Artwork
My practice deals with maintenance as a condition that both stabilises and erodes its object, a labour that insists on sustaining a system, assumes its continuity even when it shows signs of failure. Simultaneously an act of care and of attrition. I work with its
residue, reconstituted into fibre and woven onto spatial looms that resist permanence, existing as membranes between body and architecture. The work holds attention on what it costs, materially and humanly, to keep postponing collapse of inherited systems
even after they lose their capacity to function — maintenance as involuntary authorship, belated resistance through material transformation.
