About the Artwork

Taking aesthetic inspiration from the broken and degraded classical greek and Roman statues, "monument..." foregrounds queer stories that are all-to-often backgrounded in public institutions and museums. It also aims at democratising public art by inviting viewers to connect with it via touch, fostering longer, more meaningful interactions between the public and artwork that is usually presented with a barrier.
