About the Artwork

This work gathers fragments of built environments held in the artist’s memory: a skate ramp, stairwells, the quiet landings once occupied before returning home. These peripheral architectures of leaning, lingering, and waiting are reassembled into a single,
fluid structure. What were once distinct sites become entangled impressions, where rigidity softens and yields to movement.
Suspended between departure and return, the sculpture reflects an ongoing negotiation with place and how spaces dissolve, compress, and reform through memory. Rendered in a luxurious magenta, the colour elevates these tucked-away environments, framing them as formative and precious.
