There is not satire, no comedy, no critique. These are simply four words that adhere to our syntactic understanding of english languish they create a grid based on their numerical value (in this case four, hence four words). But we are programmed to read and make an image, my aim is tor try and strip language of any communicative meaning and utilise it as a building material to formally place a shape within a painted environment.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Alex Jones (b. 1987) is a BA Fine Art Sculpture graduate from the University of Brighton. His solo exhibitions include Je Ne Me Soucie Pas De in Grenoble, France (2024) and P is just R with one leg in Brighton (2023). His work has been featured in group exhibitions at Glyndebourne and Volta Art Fair in New York. He received the InPrint Award in 2018 and was shortlisted for the Szpilman Award in 2012.
