About the Artwork

Held aloft is a representation of part of a device that measures, or is measured by, our desire for understanding. An understanding of what is unknown, that we will create meaning for to fill the gaps of this unknowingness. We desire the certainty of knowledge whilst ignoring the importance for the desire over the knowledge. The desire is the thing, the thing that moves us forward far more than the knowledge desired.
The desire is continuous and constant.
