About the Artwork

Using materials that have inherently transporting properties and ancient and futuristic resonances, the Ocular Devices series are a metaphor for the search for meaning. Efficacious devices one could use to aid the summoning of those spaces we cannot know. Looking through a lens or prism to gain a clarity of vision in the quest for alternative knowledge. Perhaps if one looks through the Eye of Horus or the Evil Eye one could gain divine (in)sight, something will be revealed. Magical technologies for a visionary experience, full of alchemy and ritual, deception and trickery, smoke and mirrors.
