About the Artwork

This work turns to rhythm, emotion, and memory as their form. It speaks to multiplicity and fragmentation at the same time, mirroring how identity is experienced as layered, shifting, and plural. This painting dissolves into pleats of colour, rhythm, and repeated gestures. It evolves through an accumulation of layers, where movement, density, and resistance shift over time. Built through accumulating layers, it begins with fluid, urgent marks that move freely across an open surface. As paint thickens, gestures shorten and slow. This work becomes a record of duration and labour, where the work remains suspended between energy movement and consolidation.
