About the Artwork

After a decade of accumulating clothes, objects and wood, I stopped buying art materials until the accumulation was all used up, following Donna Haraway’s: “stay with the trouble”. In this new moment of my journey, movements like Supports/Surfaces, Neo-concretism, Arte Povera or Minimalism became guides to transform art as a form of play. The work "The Pause" was created with leftovers of paintings and devised specifically for the wall of the exhibition space. Its minimalist shapes and simple fabrication process underline the tensions present in the material, the fragility of the installation and its ephemeral caracter.

Ready to Hang: n/a (the work is a sculpture/based on the floor)

When the two separated elements composed of two timbers and a fabric are delivered, screws must be screwed at the bottom and top on the wall for them to strech as much as possible after the fabric being twisted twice (see pictures). Repeat for each element so that they forme a diamond shape betweeen them. The second phase of hanging is to screw 6 long screws half-way through at each of the 4 corners of the installation and in the middle of the element (top and bottom) so that a ribbon can be attached to them and underline the diamond shapes (see pictures formely attached).
Happy to help to build it up or provide a video for it if needed.
