Eleanor Havsteen-Franklin
Eleanor Havsteen-Franklin's (b.1973) work incorporates sculpture, printmaking and drawing. She was born and raised in Denmark, and is now based near London. Her work is inspired by botanical and biological forms; exploring ideas of hybridity and surreal relational entanglement between the human and non-human species. Collaborations with scientists at Cambridge University and their research on fungi, plant immunity and mutually beneficial interactions have inspired her work.
She is part of the MASS sculpture programme (2025-27), holds an MA in Printmaking from Camberwell College UAL and a PgDip in Art Therapy. She is the recipient of an A-N bursary, and been awarded numerous residencies including AA2A and the NIRS artist residency in Narsaq Greenland leading to ‘SILA: Inuit Culture and Arctic Sustainability’ at the Royal Geographical Society (2023). Solo exhibitions include Danske Grafikeres Hus, Museet Holmen in DK, De Queeste Art in Belgium and Corpus, Pushing Print in Margate (1st Prize). Selected group exhibitions Summer Exhibition, Royal Academy (2023-2026, 2021, 2013-2016, 2008-2010); Sydney Nolan Art Prize, Presteigne (2026); Millimetre, Kingsgate Project Space, London (2026, 2023); RE Bankside Gallery (2025); Wells Art Contemporary (2023, 2022); Confluence, The Printroom Studio (2023); Northern Print Biennale, Gallery North and Hatton Gallery in Newcastle UK (2016, 2009); Guanlan Print Biennale in China (2013, 2009) and Kyoto Hanga Print Exhibition, Kyoto City Art Museum, Japan (2012).
Her work is represented by De Queeste Art in Belgium and O Gallery in Vejle, Denmark.
