About the Artwork
Seoul-born, London-based artist Joonhong Min critiques the chronic anxiety and information overload of modern urban life. Min argues that social media and advertising offer a shallow, addictive escape, blinding us to harsh realities like commercial waste and war.
His multimedia practice, shifting from architecture to figures and virtual landscapes, uses jarring juxtapositions of fragmented bodies and mass consumption symbols. Through paintings, installations, and videos, Min replicates over-edited imagery to challenge viewer desensitization and foster active participation in cultural critique. His art aims to create a vital record for those living presently, resisting cultural paralysis.
