About the Artwork
The work explores the human-nature relationship in the intertidal zone of Sillon beach, Saint-Malo, where spectacular tides (the highest in continental Europe) threaten the city with flooding. At low tide, the space transforms into a lunar landscape and a
territory for exploration. The project employs a dual approach: documentary photographs capture human activity on the foreshore, accompanied by testimonies from visitors about their sensory and emotional connection to this place. Through
chemigrams and photograms, rocks, sand, seaweed, and seawater become active subjects generating "self-portraits," inverting anthropocentric perspective and inviting a meditation on our entanglement with nature.
The work is available in different sizes, please inquire for more details and pricing. The work comes unframed.
