Neev

Handwoven textile
30 x 300 cm

Regular price £800.00
About the Artwork

Neev is a handwoven textile made from biomaterials crafted using food waste collected from local cafés and Yahvi’s own kitchen. The weft combines banana peel, eggshells, avocado pits, and hand-spun banana fibre sourced from a remote craft cluster in India. All materials are undyed, untreated, and celebrated in their natural form. Together, they form a quiet meditation on care, resourcefulness, and craft. The piece explores the idea that waste is not an end, but a quiet beginning — a foundation (neev) for new stories, materials, and ways of making rooted in care, resilience, and renewal.
