About the Artwork

Here, invisible structures of existence are rendered through the human form. The figures encapsulate a temporal being in an eternal condition and reflect our own grappling relationship with autonomy, volition and control. Are we agents of change, or are we fated to reenact the same revolutions under new titles? Here, the body becomes a corporeal locus where these questions are held in suspension. Figures are frozen within a swirling motion, inhabiting the tension between return and rupture, “to revolve” or “to revolt”.
