About the Artwork

Jug with worm holes is a coiled pot, with punctured holes. The holes extend with curled spirals, as if worms crawl out or a pouring out of a liquid. For me, this vase explores the spillage of domesticity — the wounded scars where familial settings leave marks. The work is feral in its approach, going against traditional vessel making, an intentional leaking out of a liquid, an encapsulated moment of letting go. Its vessel is destined to always be empty; the norms of domestic life is thwarted and a potential contained substance is physically always escaping, can never be held.
