About the Artwork

This painting came from a failure - it's common to change ideas when painting, to find out what it is through its' making, wrong turns and all - and kicked off my London Vernacular series. The LV works consist of shapes, colours and recollections of architectural or signage that catch my eye on walks around the studio. I never listen to music on headphones when walking as it creates a barrier to the world around me. I like to see, hear and be aware of where I am, to be alive in the moment in the city that I love.
