About the Artwork

This mixed media collage series deconstructs vintage magazine layouts through a process of redaction, erasure, and layering. Using found wood and street-collected materials as the base, the works expose the physical anatomy of print—gutters, bleeds, staples, and margins—while juxtaposing them with fragile natural environments like wetlands and tundras. By removing text, images, and captions, the pieces reveal hidden structures and create new, often disjointed narratives, echoing themes of memory, distortion, and ecological loss. The result is a site-specific meditation on what remains when context is stripped away.
