About the Artwork

Exploring the fascinating costumes and accessories of the ballet, the whimsical isolated scene is cropped to focus on a crimson mesh glove handling a mirror, with the impression of a swan rendered in the reflective glass of the object. Celebrating the quotidian with the grace and glamour of stage aesthetics, there is an extra level of drama and intrigue expressed in the scene. Eschewing a simple focus on an everyday item, the juxtapositions in the composition and the overall ambience emanating from this demands deeper narrative interpretations. Delicate blending and fine details lull the viewer into a fantastic vision.
