Crystalised: composition N2

Ochre and charcoal pigments on burnt polyester fabric
40 x 30 x 45 cm

Regular price £1,500.00
About the Artwork

A cone-shaped textile sculpture, handmade from melted synthetic fabric, hardens without stitches or glue, exposing polyester’s hidden plastic nature. Hand-painted with pigments, it bridges the natural and industrial, inspired by prehistoric caves and their
polluted present. Polyester sheds microplastics that permeate oceans, reefs, caves, stalagmites and even human bodies, embedding plastic within organic systems. The work reflects a shifting reality: a trans-plastic ecosystem where synthetic and natural elements merge, marking an era of environmental mutation and transformation.
