About the Artwork

Materials: cotton-synthetic (natural dyed), vintage silk, vintage pan velvet. About the work In The Beast, Zulfiya Spowart reinterprets the imagery of Persian miniatures to explore corporeality as a site of internal struggle. Abstract forms evoke battles between order and freedom, reflecting the tension between personal identity and cultural expectations. Clothing, here, becomes a symbol of both societal constraint and individual expression.
