Tom Buchanan
Tom Buchanan (b. 1971) is an illustrator trained in the Graphic Arts. He is fascinated by assemblage and the tactile possibilities of found objects. His first book, Out of The Box, was recently published, celebrating the significance of found things and the art of collecting. This work helped him understand his own creative practice and his attraction to the process of cause and effect and the collision of unlikely objects.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
I'm extremely proud of my book 'Out of The Box', which is built on a decade of research, curating, and the documenting of box art exhibitions and events going back to 2012. The other highlight is my ongoing 'plates' project of illustrated ceramics in bespoke box frames. As well as two solo exhibitions with The Ben Oakley Gallery, I've been featured at The Other Art Fair and STROKE in Munich. I have an upcoming solo show called 'The Storyteller' at The Coningsby Gallery in London W1
