About the Artwork

This experimental piece is made of several components. It has an abstracted folded copper sheet form on the wall which has been sawn and the surface has angle grinder effects. Abstracted soft sculpture forms are growing out from the copper form and dripping down the wall on the ground. The piece includes three electric customised toy motors inside three soft sculpture forms and they move in repeated patterns. On my Instagram wall @kirsik_fineart the second post is a video of the first version of the piece in motion with the toy motors.

The piece is made from several components. It has three electric customised toy motors inside three soft sculpture forms. The abstracted copper form is hung on the wall with screws from its mdf base. Sculptural forms on the wall are hung with screws.
Two electric toy motors on the floor need to be secured in place with hooks and velcro. The three electric plugs need an
extension lead I will provide. I have made a mdf cover for the extension lead to be hidden away. The yarn tassels are meant to hang vertically, tidy and freely downwards like in photographs.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Kirsi Pirhonen (b. 1981) is a visual artist based in London. They received their BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Northbrook College, validated by UAL and is currently undertaking an MA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins (2025–2027). In 2025 they were awarded a UAL Postgraduate Scholarship, following a Best in Show nomination at their BA graduation exhibition. Recent exhibitions include 'Substance of Colour' at Lea Bridge Gallery, 'Please Do Not Interpret' at Good Rice Gallery, Cheeky London Launchpad 2025 - Emerging Art Exhibition, part of London Design Festival 2025, amongst others.
