About the Artwork

The series Stane, the Scots word for stone, draws inspiration from the rugged coastline and weathered stone walls of St Andrews, Scotland. Formed by vessels shaped into fluid forms, each piece is pierced with apertures and textured with traces of Scottish sand, reflecting the landscape's untamed beauty and uneven rhythm of the medieval constructions.
It invites the viewer to look closer: to peer into hollows, shadows, and the gentle shifts between interior and exterior. Stane celebrates the untamed beauty of Scotland's coastline and the enduring elegance of weathered forms, patiently shaped by wind, seawater and time.
