About the Artwork

Summer embodies the height of the seasonal cycle, where life reaches its fullest expression before the inevitable return to decline. Rich glazes and lustre create a sense of vitality, while blossoming floral forms emerge from the figure as though nature and body have become inseparable.

Rather than depicting a human figure, the sculpture represents a spiritual being born from the landscape itself. It speaks to the continuous processes of growth, erosion and transformation that shape the natural world, reminding us that even in moments of abundance, change is always present beneath the surface.
