About the Artwork

The three voyeurs are the artist’s personal material experiments with natural and bastard woods. Understanding if a PAX Wardrobe, Birch Ply and London Plane can each be sculpted to achieve similar outputs. The answer was an expected ‘Yes’.
The forms of these pieces directly trace the growth of a particular tree on a woodland cruising site in East London and respond to the ergonomics of the common activities that take place there.

Ready to Hang:

Part of a series of three, placed with their backs centred into one another sprawled out kind of like a birds foot; basically spreading out from one point towards the same general direction. From a series of three to be placed together. Otherwise just stand alone and used as a table.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Alexander (b.1999) is a maker based at Blackhorse Workshop. With experience in architecture and a bachelor’s from the WSA, he is currently completing an MA in Architecture at the RCA 2026.
His work has been exhibited at academic institutions and is expanding into the public realm through an upcoming solo exhibition at Blackhorse Workshop and a group exhibition with Hypha Studio as part of the artist collective Hardcore Software.
Alongside a background in woodworking and furniture making, he currently has works at Suba Bakery and is an assistant fabricator and co-designer for a public furniture installation at UCLH.
