About the Artwork

'Zoomies' has its origin from a internet trend of blurry and low quality pictures of black cats doing ordinary cat things, the quality of the photos often shows a surreal atmosphere, making the cats look less cat-like and more monster-like. I find it fun to explore this new way of looking at silly cats.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Zoey Chang (b.1995) is a Taiwanese artist and curator based in London, with a Masters degree in painting from Royal College of Art. She has curated 7 contemporary art shows championing emerging artists based in the UK and has participated in numerous shows as an artist, including with Bow Arts, LCB Depot, Rupture Gallery, etc. Her works have been longlisted for the 2023 VAA Professional Artist Award, and shortlisted for 2026 RA Summer Show.
