The photograph comes from a few days spent in the Kent countryside, looking after a friend’s cat. It was December. The house was still, the garden dormant. Days moved gently - books, tea, a little chocolate, and long silences. Silence shaped the day. This image isn’t about the place, exactly. It's about being present and still enough to notice.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Marina Tsaregorodtseva (b. 1978, Russia) is a London-based Fine Art photographer. She is a graduate of the University of Westminster. Tsaregorodtseva has received several awards, including the Gold Winner at TIFA 2022 and Silver Winner at PX3 2023. She was shortlisted for the Sony World Photography Awards in 2022 and 2025. Her work has been featured in group exhibitions at Somerset House and the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts.
