About the Artwork
I imagined my house and I built it out of clay Touch sits in the intersection of memory and physicality. I remember touching; warmth, pressure, presence. I remember being touched, the comfort of a hand, the brush of a finger. Clay remembers, too. Fired clay holds touch forever. Its surface is a map of caresses sealed in fire. Each vessel is a body shaped by longing, a fossil of tenderness. I will build a home from these traces. A home embraced with color a home that is mine— not by possession, by the slow, sure accumulation of touch.
