About the Artwork
Utilising architecture's native tools, pencil on paper, allows me to communicate in a language architects understand, while my use of the medium moves beyond traditional architectural education to promote analogue modes of thinking through drawing. In this piece, an architect is shown disconnected from the design process. He is surrounded by a built environment of ecological terror he cannot relate to due to the dehumanisation of industrial design. This estrangement opposes the work's production. Through months of daily analogue labour and careful translation into drawn space, the piece reveals environmental consequences of accelerated, dehumanised design within contemporary digital worldviews.
