Edgar Racy
Edgar Racy (b.1963, São Paulo, Brazil) lives and works in London. In the late 80s and early 90s, Edgar Racy participated in a drawing course led by Carlos Fajardo, engaging with a group of emerging artists who would later exhibit together. He also attended Art History and Philosophy courses taught by Rodrigo Naves and Rogério da Costa, respectively, and took part in a workshop with Amílcar de Castro at the Pinacoteca do Estado. Racy contributed to mentoring programs at Oficina Oswald de Andrade and in 2017/18 attended, Tiago Mesquita’s course Imagem na Arte Contemporânea.
Since moving to London in 2018, he has worked as an artist’s assistant for Michael Raedecker, John Davies, Alexandre da Cunha, Damien Hirst, and Raqib Shaw. During this period, he also became part of the Art collective "Thin Red Lion".
