About the Artwork

My figures, often anonymous and not entirely human, are always comfortable in their environments, so comfortable that they become folded into the landscape, their limbs turning into valleys, their bodies rising into mountains, their heads merging with the sun. The abstraction of the human form is central to my practice: breaking down the body into manageable shapes allows my work to be shared and enjoyed by others through collage and workshops.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Molly Burrows (b. 2002) is an artist and educator based in South London. She graduated from Camberwell College of Arts in 2024 and is an artist-in-residence at Harris Boys’ Academy. She was selected for New Contemporaries 2024 and developed an inclusive resource for the exhibition that was praised by Time Out. Her work has been exhibited at ai. gallery, Drawing Room, and the Royal West of England Academy. She has produced resources for organizations including the Gaza Biennale.
