Iulia Filipovscaia

Iulia (b.1985, Siberia) delves into nature & metaphysics via shamanism, environmental awareness, & consciousness. Her art, using reclaimed & elemental materials, spans installations, sculptures, & performances. Notable achievements include co-curating “Forging the Self” at The Koppel Gallery, having her photographic work shortlisted for the Salon Photo Prize 2011, and exhibiting at The Photographers’ Gallery and Photofusion. In 2019, she was awarded the Denis Diderot Grant for a residency at Château d’Orquevaux. She holds an MA in Image and Communication from Goldsmiths University and a BA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins.
