About the Artwork

Cast directly from the land, a puddle hangs over pipe-work as if drying. Materials describe my interactions with the puddle; squishing, brushing, rubbing. I’m a mould-maker, using my bodies limitations to cast outdoors in the elements. Through slow-making and sensory exploration, I confront bodily disassociation and ecological disconnect. I cast to feel connected. shrinking and morphing the landscape into body sized forms, I explore identity and ecology, playfully critiquing our compulsion to preserve, claim, and belong to landscapes from which we are detached.
