About the Artwork

‘Daisy Sees Red’ is built by hand out of plywood and studio offcuts, seeing certain raised elements and a delicate raw wooden edge. The intuitive, abstracted process of distilling personal and ambiguous imagery results in a gamified viewpoint. Whilst the view is formal, head-on and flattened, there is a slipping and sliding of potential realities; a landscape, a window or mirror, a pattern. The tension that lies beneath the surface hints at a the desire to break out; geometricised flora, along with a sense of rotating time, feel both joyful and pathologically embodying a breaking point.
