About the Artwork

An intimate tangle of legs, stockings, and high heels. choreographed and chaotic, the figures are cut, composed tightly at the thighs, their interaction focused entirely on the language of legs: bruised, scraped, flexed. They both have an edge between closeness and entrapment. A glass lies spilled on the red floor, hinting at aftermath or interruption. Beneath them, a dark feline presence jumps through the legs, aware of the audience and our gaze.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jade Gaskin (b. 1994) is a London-based painter. She graduated from Hair Make-up and Prosthetics from London College of Fashion and The Essential School Of Painting in 2025. Her upcoming shows include a co-curated show at Hypha Studios, a duo show at Mandy Zhang Gallery, and the Royal Academy Summer Show 25. She has also been selected for Blue Shop Cottage – Works on Paper 6.
