About the Artwork

Half Full explores hospitality as an expression of care and inclusion. Set around left overs from a shared meal, the painting brings together anthropomorphic figures, in a scene where generosity, companionship and consumption coexist. I am interested in the quiet rituals through which we welcome others, share what we have and make space around the table, while also acknowledging the contradictions that exist within
these acts of care.
The title Half Full suggests a quiet optimism, insisting on possibility even if incomplete and reflects my interest in resilience, finding generosity in what is available rather than focusing on what is lacking. Built through layers of paint, collage and accumulated imagery, the work embraces improvisation and resourcefulness, allowing unexpected relationships to emerge from underneath layers.
Making space is not only a physical act but also a social one: an invitation to gather, share and participate. By celebrating the ordinary, the imperfect and the well-used, Half Ful suggests that care, creativity and resilience are often found in the act of making room for others, space for the new.
