About the Artwork

Grids are a scientific way to map and measure. The topography of the forces that made this piece are revealed in the stretched and folded form, achieved through fusing then multiple slumps in the kiln. Named after astronomer Edwin Hubble, who was referred to as a ‘mariner of the nebulae’, spacecraft are currently mapping the shape and structure of the universe.
