About the Artwork

Yasmin's practice explores identity, transformation, and the feminine experience through abstracted figurative forms intertwined with the natural world. She creates delicate, emotive works that reflect an evolving sense of self and the complexities of personal growth. Inspired by the myth of Apollo and Daphne, Yasmin reimagines Daphne's transformation into a laurel tree not as a tragic ending, but as an act of becoming. Through motifs of nature emerging from the body, her work symbolises resilience, growth, and continually evolving identity.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Yasmin (b. 2001) is a printmaker based in England with English and Turkish heritage. She holds an MA in Print from the Royal College of Art. Her work has been featured in group exhibitions including 'In Betweens' (2025) and the 'Swanfall Art Annual Exhibition' (2025). She has also been a guest lecturer at Norwich University of the Arts and is a recipient of the Travers Smith Art Programme.
