About the Artwork
Shifting Shapes is an imagined coastal landscape that emerged through an intuitive painting process. Rather than working from a specific place, I allow forms, colours and textures to develop naturally, responding to each mark as the painting unfolds. Layers are built, scraped back and reworked until a landscape begins to reveal itself. Inspired by the changing coastline, shifting light and the way memory reshapes places over time, this painting sits between the familiar and the imagined. I hope it encourages viewers to pause, look closely and discover their own narrative within the landscape, where movement, stillness and transformation exist together.
