Clay, silicone
40 x 37 x 28 cm

Regular price £1,200.00
About the Artwork

The sculpture is made from United clay covered in silicone. Each piece bridges the space between rock and flesh; inorganic abstract forms that undulate and glisten like body parts.
When stacked together the forms begin to take on the form of a heavily degraded bust, as though excavated from the ruins of antiquity. The piece uses humanities natural tendency to see faces in inanimate objects to question the value of ancient artifacts and confront our own mortality and aging process.
