About the Artwork

The Inevitable is an oil painting on canvas that was exhibited in Following a Trace at the Ferreyra Palace Museum of Fine Arts, Córdoba, in 2025.
The work reflects on transformation as an unavoidable condition of existence. I draw a parallel between the slow erosion of stone into sand and the personal processes that reshape us over time. In both nature and human experience, change often requires rupture. What appears solid eventually fractures, giving way to new forms. Rather than an end, breaking becomes part of a continuous cycle of transformation.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Majo Caporaletti (b.1986, Buenos Aires) holds a degree in Visual Arts from the National University of the Arts (UNA) and continued her studies at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. She has received major national awards, including an Honourable Mention at the 110th National Prize of Visual Arts (2022). Recent solo exhibitions include Present is Fragile (Künstlerverein Malkasten, Düsseldorf, 2026), A Levitating Territory (Filet Space, London, 2026), and Following a Trace (Ferreyra Palace Museum, Córdoba, 2025). Her paintings explore transformation, memory, and the symbolic relationship between landscape, the human body, and nature.
