About the Artwork

‘They Drank Silently from Urd’s Well’ is part of a body of work based on Norse Mythology. My interest is in the shared human experience reflected in mythology/folklore across vastly different cultures and time periods. Using paint and pastel on paper in meditative marks I create otherworldly shapeshifting figures and scenes. Mining a system of experimental decisions in painting, drawing and colour, I create a gulf between meaning and subject while speaking to the universality of being both disconnected and intertwined.
