About the Artwork

Unfold Riso Print 01 is a Risograph print working in five colours, pink, red, green, yellow and black layer that activates between them. The colours press against each other, overlap and interact — form emerging from that friction in ways that feel both deliberate and discovered. The intensity shifts with the light in the room. Each of the five prints in the edition is close but not identical. A small space where colour, form and process arrived at something together.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Beate Sonnenberg (b. 1966, Cologne) is a German mixed media artist based in London. She studied at Bournemouth College of Art and has a lens-based practice exploring perception, light, and materiality. Her work has been exhibited at Photo London, Ferens Art Gallery (Hull), and Unit 1 Gallery Workshop. She held a solo exhibition, Simple Complexity, in London in 2022. Her video works were longlisted for the Aesthetica Art Prize (2024), and her work has been included in Aesthetica Magazine.
