'Under Our Breath' is a series inspired by spring. They are my self-portraits reflects on danger, intimate to explore my queer identity. Through intertwined female bodies, I questioning what the female body can be, what the alternative possibilities rooted in the female body, and what the female body can become.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Rainy Tong (Qiuxiang Liu) is a London-based Chinese painter. She graduated in Painting(MA) in Royal College of Art. Rainy presented solo exhibitions at RuptureXIBIT in London in 2025 and participated in group exhibitions including Saatchi Gallery, Silian Gallery, Espacio Gallery Space, Safe House, among others. Her performance work Ghost Touch and poetry piece Eat the Moment were published in the book I Am Human and presented at the ICA Book Fair by Wild Parlour in 2025.
