About the Artwork

‘Held’ explores repetition as a means of extending rather than freezing a moment. The layered image of hands repeatedly reaching towards one another suggests movement unfolding across time, resisting a singular reading. Overlaid floral traces, informed by lumen print processes, introduce a second rhythm of duration, allowing different moments to coexist within the painting. The work reflects on how perception, memory and embodied experience are shaped through continual return, where each encounter subtly alters what is seen.
